Sirocco Wines has thrived for 15 years on a twelve-acre block on the southern banks of the Rakaia River. We are a self-sufficient vineyard and winery involved in every aspect of the winemaking process, from hand-picking the grapes to bottling and labelling the wine on site.
The cool climate of the South Island is tempered by our long sunlight hours and the moderate Sirocco winds that breeze through the plains. These favorable conditions help us to produce a variety of quality wines from year to year. At Sirocco, we are thoroughly immersed in organic lifestyle, and are currently in our second year of Bio-Gro certification as a fully organic operation. We also love to share our knowledge and company with people who are interested in winemaking and organics in general, and often host "WWOOFers" (members of World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms).
